Parlatorio

A real-time voice translation app: each person speaks their own language and hears the other already translated, with captions.

What it does

Parlatorio lets two people talk without sharing a language. Each one speaks their own, and the other hears the translation straight away, with live captions — in video calls, voice calls or chat.

• → Simultaneous translation — video and voice calls translated as people speak, using OpenAI's realtime translation model and a self-hosted LiveKit for the media.
• → Choose how you listen — translation only, original voice only, or both with a slider to mix them.
• → Translated chat — write or record a voice message in your language and read or hear it in theirs; you can always check the original text or audio.
• → Invite by code or link — a 6-character code or a link; guests join with just a name, and the person who started the conversation pays for the translation.
• → Prepaid credits — 1 credit is 1 minute of two-way translated conversation, bought through Google Play or the App Store and validated on the server.

How it's built

A native Android/iOS app in .NET MAUI Blazor Hybrid with Syncfusion components, backed by an ASP.NET Core API on SQL Server. API keys and secrets stay on the server: the app only receives short-lived passes.

About the demo

The demo beside this text is the real app running in your browser, in English, with sample data: browse the history, start a chat and get a simulated reply from a guest speaking another language. Live voice and video translation, the microphone and credit purchases need the Android/iOS app, so they are disabled here. Nothing leaves your browser.
